Transcona values leaders who show up, listen, and stay connected. Strong community engagement means being present in neighbourhoods, responding to concerns, and working with residents — not just talking at them. People want a councillor who knows the community, understands its challenges, and builds solutions with them, not for them. This pillar is about trust, accessibility, and genuine partnership.
02. Safe city
People want to feel safe where they live, work, and raise their families. Safety isn’t just about policing — it’s about well‑lit streets, traffic calming, safer crossings, and community spaces that feel welcoming. When residents know their neighbourhood is secure, everything else becomes possible: kids walk to school confidently, seniors feel comfortable getting around, and families enjoy parks and trails without worry.
03. Sustainable city
Transcona is growing, and residents want to know the city is planning responsibly for the future. Sustainability means protecting green spaces, improving how we manage waste, and making sure our infrastructure can handle growth. It also includes food security — ensuring people have reliable access to healthy, affordable food. A sustainable city is one that looks ahead and makes smart choices today so future generations can thrive.

People expect their tax dollars to be used wisely. Smart fiscal planning means focusing on value for money, reducing waste, and investing in projects that actually make life better for residents. It’s about being honest and transparent with budgets, choosing practical solutions, and making sure every dollar supports a stronger, more efficient Transcona.

Seamless services mean reducing red tape, improving communication, and making sure the basics are done well. When services run smoothly, people feel respected and heard.
