Transcona has always been home. I grew up here, graduated here, raised my family here, and have spent more than 20 years volunteering alongside our neighbours to help make our community even stronger. This is a community built by people who roll up their sleeves, lend a hand when it's needed, and take pride in where they live. Those values shaped who I am, and they continue to guide me every day, both in my career and in my commitment to serving our community.

Community focused
My passion for community service began back in 2002 when I started volunteering at the Oxford Heights Community Club. In 2007, I was honoured to be elected President. Working alongside an incredible team of volunteers, we transformed the club into a thriving community hub where families can connect, children can play, and neighbours can come together. Those years taught me that lasting change happens when people work together with a shared purpose.

One of the projects I am most proud of was helping lead the partnership between local residents, the Oxford Heights Community Club, and the Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association to build a new basketball court and playground in 2014. While the finished project is something I will always be proud of, what stands out most is everything it took to get there. Building consensus, securing partnerships, navigating challenges, and working alongside dedicated volunteers reminded me that meaningful community projects don't happen overnight. They happen when people are willing to listen, work together, and stay committed to a shared vision. Every time I see families and young people enjoying that space, I'm reminded of what a community can accomplish when people work together.

Professional growth
Professionally, I graduated from Murdoch MacKay Collegiate before earning a diploma in Creative Communications, majoring in Public Relations, from what is now RRC Polytech. I spent 24 years with TruServ Canada (acquired by RONA in 2010), working my way up through a variety of leadership roles before becoming Advertising & Communications Manager. As a member of the executive team, I led strategic communications, marketing, and stakeholder engagement. I also had the responsibility of guiding our team through the company's closure following its acquisition, an experience that reinforced the importance of steady leadership, honest communication, and putting people first during times of change.

Demonstrated commitment
Today, I have the privilege of serving as Executive Director of the General Council of Winnipeg Community Centres (GCWCC), where I work alongside volunteers and community leaders to support community centres across Winnipeg. I feel incredibly fortunate that my career allows me to combine my professional experience with something I care deeply about: helping build stronger communities. Every day, I get to support the volunteers, organizations, and local leaders who make our neighbourhoods welcoming, inclusive, and connected. It is work that reminds me why community matters and why investing in the people who strengthen it is always worthwhile.

It’s time
I am running for City Council because I believe Transcona deserves a representative who will listen, show up, and work collaboratively to get things done. I bring decades of experience in leadership, communications, and community building, but more importantly, I bring a lifelong commitment to this community. My promise is simple: to be a strong voice for Transcona and to work every day to help make it an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
